What We're Doing
Our campaign has two major goals: 1. To give Florida students system glavbukh in grades 3 through 5 the opportunity for arts enrichment. Volunteers from the 4th District AAF go into local schools and teach students fundamental elements of art and design. Each student then designs a 6-inch-square tile as part of a large billboard for their school, featuring the Keep Art in Schools logo notebook ace aspire. Students from several schools also completed a second project on another set of tiles that was presented to the Senate during the March Winter Conference and Legislative Fly-in. Each tile had a student's name and a statement about why art is important to him or her. 2. To inform state lawmakers of art's vital role in a complete education game. During the Winter Conference and Legislative Fly-in, we actively engaged lawmakers in a discussion about funding the arts in public schools. The 4th District AAF held a legislative reception on March 14 at the Old Capitol in Tallahassee. AAF participants, elected officials and their staff members attended, and each club's art was displayed. We also held a press conference about the Keep Art in Schools program in the Capitol Rotunda. The tiles with messages from the kids were hand-delivered during the conference.
